The International Board of Chiropractic Neurology (IBCN) of the International Academy of Clinical Neurology (IACN) requires a minimum of 300 classroom hours of post-graduate level neurology training in a program provided to Doctors of Chiropractic under the auspices of a Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) Accredited Chiropractic College in order to be eligible to sit for the Diplomate Examination leading to a Diplomate of the International Board of Chiropractic Neurology (DIBCN).
To view courses currently available, please click on the link for continuing education courses in the side navigation bar, selelct your profession and scroll down to the Topic: Neurology Clinical Chiropractic Diplomate. These are the courses we current have loaded. We plan to steadily add content to the distance learning program, with an anticipated completion of 300 hours of distance learning available within the next 12-18 months.
The courses generally cost $20 per credit hour, but you can save money by purchasing discounted prepaid credits that significantly reduce the cost per credit hour. After login, under Purchase Courses, click on the link for purchase discounted prepaid credits.
To view live classes that can be taken in conjunction with the online courses, please visit http://chiroclasses.com/Neurology_Diplomate.html
Currently the board (IBCN) has allows up to 288 distance education (online) hours. Regardless of how many live hours and how many distance education hours, the total must be more than 300 and you must pass the same written/practical examination in order to be certified. The course coordinator currently recommends 12-48 hours are taken in a live, practical format (class or rounds), depending upon your existing level of clinical skills.
You can complete selected classes leading to Neurology Certificates. You can work for this over time so that when you earn all of the Chiropractic Neurology Certificates, you will accure the majority of the hours necessary to be eligible to sit for the Diplomate examination through the IBCN. All of our classes are sponsored by the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, a CCE accredited college. Certificates will be awarded by ChiroCredit.com, sponsored by the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic. All Chiropractic Neurology Certificate hours apply towards the online portion of the Neurology Diplomate.
Joseph Ferezy, DC, FIACN, the lead instructor states "I have been teaching Chiropractic Neurology programs for over 20 years, for four different Chiropractic Colleges, and I have never been as excited about a program as I am about this one. I hope you enjoy the unique online Chiropractic Continuing Education video format of the class and elect to take all of the modules."
Whether you are taking a single session, a Certificate series or the whole Diplomate program, these classes will train you in Chiropractic Neurology the right way, and you will appreciate the very important role of the Chiropractic Neurologist every day in your clinical practice.
Classes may consist of a videotaped lecture, a unique, studio-prepared video presentation, or a videotaped patient case presentation. Online Chiropractic Neurology classes will consist of lecture, video cases and audio-visual presentations. Complete class notes are provided. For the live, practical class, you are encouraged to go to a live class location, at any time, as these classes will focus on a "hands on" session.
