MASSAGE THERAPISTS

Illinois MT State Requirements

24 hours of CE biennially – Illinois accepts 12 hours of OnlineCE.com courses

Special Requirements

  • 2 hours in ethics
  • Dementia Training: Please see our topic: Dementia Training
    • For licenses renewed on/after January 1, 2023, Senate Bill 677 requires that licensed healthcare professionals who have direct patient interaction with adults age 26 and above, must complete at least a one-hour course in training on the diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias per renewal period.
  • Implicit Bias Training: New regulation as of 2/28/2022
    • Each renewal period, all licensees must complete one hour of Implicit Bias Training. Please see our topic: Implicit Bias Training

Illinois OT State Requirements

  • Dementia Training: Please see our topic: Dementia Training For licenses renewed on/after January 1, 2023, Senate Bill 677 requires that licensed healthcare professionals who have direct patient interaction with adults age 26 and above, must complete at least a one-hour course in training on the diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias per renewal period
  • Implicit Bias Training: New regulation as of 2/28/2022
    • Each renewal period, all licensees must complete one hour of Implicit Bias Training. Please see our topic: Implicit Bias Training
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training – new regulation for renewals after 1/1/2020
    • All persons who hold a professional license issued by the IL Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and are subject to a continuing education requirement shall complete a one-hour course in sexual harassment training
    • A licensee may count this one hour for completion of this course towards meeting the minimum credit hours required for continuing education
