The National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification (BOC) is the national governing body responsible for credentialing Athletic Trainers (AT). To maintain current AT certification, individuals must meet BOC continuing education (CE) requirements. A total of fifty (50) hours of CE is required every two (2) years. Athletic Trainers can earn 50 hours of CE through Category A, or courses provided by BOC Approved Providers. Although CEUs are no longer awarded for emergency cardiac care (ECC) certification, ATs need to be current with the ECC requirements throughout the reporting period.

The Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) is the governing body that is responsible for credentialing certified hand therapists (CHT). In order to maintain the CHT credential, a CHT must accumulate a minimum of 80 contact hours of professional development activities during their five-year accrual period. Professional development hours may be earned in seven different categories. OnlineCE.com offers courses in 3 Categories: A, B and C.

Special Requirements
Health care practitioners who provide direct patient care must complete an approved human trafficking prevention training course in order to renew their license/ ChiroCredit.com/OnlineCE.com offers a course to meet this requirement that has been approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and meets all required HHSC Human Trafficking Training Standard. This training must be completed by the first license renewal starting with September 1, 2020. This requirement is for each renewal period.
