MASSAGE THERAPISTS

Michigan MT State Requirements

18 hours of CE due every 3 years based on the date of original lisensure – Michigan accepts 18 hours of OnlineCE.com courses

 

Special Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 1 hours of CE in the area of pain and symptom management
  • Requires a minimum of 2 hours of CE in the area of ethics or boundaries
  • Not more than 12 hours of CE shall be earned during a 24-hr period
  • Human trafficking is a one-time training requirement that does not have a minimum number of hours

Occupational Therapist

Michigan OT State Requirements

20 hours of CE due every 2 years based on the date of initial licensure – Michigan accepts 10 hours of OnlineCE.com courses

Special Requirements

  • Requires 1 Hour of CE in pain management (ie, courses in behavior management, psychology of pain, pharmacology, behavior modification, stress management, clinical applications, and drug interventions as related to OT)
  • Starting June 1, 2022, Renewing licensees and registrants are required to complete 1 hour of implicit bias training for each year of their license or registration cycle
  • New Applicants for licensure or registration are required to have completed 2 hours of implicit bias training within the 5 years immediately preceding issuance of the license or registration. See our topic: Implicit Bias
  • Administrative Rule R 338.1215 requires an individual licensed or seeking licensure to complete training to identify victims of human trafficking. This is a one-time training that is separate from continuing education (CE)
  • Licensees renewing for 2020 must complete training by renewal 2022
  • Beginning October 19, 2022, completion of the training is a requirement for initial licensure
  • One-half of the required CE hours shall be completed in person using live synchronous contact.
  • Online webinars are not accepted for this requirement
  • No more than 10 credit hours may be earned during one 24-hour period for on-line activities
